T. Jeanne Boughton, age 85, of Shreve, Ohio passed away peacefully at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster where she was surrounded by her family. She had fought a brave and courageous battle with ovarian cancer for the last few years.

She was born on October 12, 1932 in Minerva, Ohio and was the only daughter to Sheldon and Helen Marie (Krabill) Haines.

She graduated from Minerva High School in June of 1950 and then graduated from the Aultman School Of Nursing in Canton in 1953.

She married Thomas Robert Boughton on August 30, 1953 in Canton, Ohio. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2016.

Jeanne worked at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Aultman Hospital, Orrville Osteopathic Clinic and then with Wooster Community Hospital. Following her retirement, she volunteered for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile program for over 40 years.

Along with being a very active member of her community, she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in Wooster where she was also a sunday school teacher and involved with "Wow" (Women of The Word) bible study group; also the Shreve American Legion Auxiliary; Friends of Library, American Red Cross Blood Mobile Program; 4-H and Girl Scout Advisor and Grande De La Femmes. In 2008 she was the recipient of the Golden Heart Award through the Shreve Businessmen and Community Assoc. Her hobbies included knitting, reading and an avid scrabble player and mostly loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Kathy) Boughton of Shreve, Denise (Scott) Kreger and Susan (Tom "TJ") Johnson all of Big Prairie, Karen (Gary) Blackham of Idaho, Debra (Larry) McNeill of Canton, and Craig (Rochell) Boughton of Alabama. Her 18 grandchildren, Alison Boughton, Kory (Stephanie) Boughton, Pam Kreger, Kyle (Patty) Johnson, Sierra Johnson, Brittany (Casey) Fuller, Camron (Brandie) Ellis, Brooke (Kyle) Permann, Matt (Krista) Blackham, Jared (Aubrey) Blackham, Brad Blackham, Lisa Blackham, Tyler (Ally) Blackham, Beau McNeill, John Starnes, Dawn (Tim) Mayle, Brandon McNeill, Brianna McNeill, Thad (Daphne) Boughton, Breann (Brent) Alcaraz and 27 great-grandchildren and a brother Marion Haines, Sr. of New Philadelphia, Ohio; her lifetime friend, Ruth Ann Capper.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Haines.

Not only was Jeanne a very loving mother and grandmother, she was always willing to help others in need.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Glendora Health Care Center and Life Care Hospice for their kind, gentle care for our mother.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Wooster. Then immediately following services there will be a time of fellowship and comfort food at the church.

A private interment will then take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at the convenience of the family.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster and one hour prior (11:00 - 12:00 p.m.) to services on Friday at the church.
